We're husband and wife team; Charlotte and Jamie, artist and musician, best of friends and inseparable companions. We welcome you with open arms into our lovingly restored and curated church home, our ethos is to make you feel so relaxed that you won't want to leave.

We moved to wild and rural Scotland with babe in arms, driven by a passion to be more self sufficient, live slowly and simply at one with nature, to forage and reduce our carbon footprint. Settling here in 2011 we poured our hearts and souls into tenderly and slowly transforming this beautiful historic building into our charming family home and business. We adore it here and hope you'll love it as much as we do.

In our small way we try to make St Mary's as ‘green’ as possible. 

Our electricity is from sustainables and much of our heating from our wood burning stoves, fuelled by windfall trees or wood we cut ourselves from our own woodland.​

Our fresh and pure water comes from the hill behind the house (filtered of course) and we do our utmost to live and work in harmony with our surroundings.​

Fairness and equality are at the heart of how we work, so naturally we do our best to make our guests feel welcome and at home at St Mary's. 

We live, work, play and raise our family at St Mary's. To us, it's not just work, it's a way of life.

We were made to feel special and comfortable from the minute we made first contact with Charlotte and Jamie to arrange our special day. They truly went above and beyond anything we could have expected or needed. From our arrival at the venue, a beautiful secluded spot in the rural highlands, we felt totally at ease. They treated us as friends and we could not have asked for more supportive, helpful and considerate hosts. The food was exceptional and being vegan we were pleasantly surprised at the variety and quantity. The little touches made the memories of our wedding that much more special. We married in a tiny intimate ceremony at St Mary's Space in June. What a wonderful experience start to finish. Charlotte and Jamie are such warm, welcoming & creative people. St Mary's as a venue is eclectic, unique & beautiful. Amazingly decorated & warm. The food made by Jamie was incredible, one of those meals you'll think about for years to come! We also had the pleasure of staying in the cabin on site and it was delightful! Private and cosy, I could have stayed there forever. We truly had the most magical time at St Mary's Space & would highly recommend it to any couple looking for an intimate & relaxed wedding. Thank you again, Charlotte & Jamie for opening your home to us. We will remember our time at St Mary's Space forever.

We had a micro-wedding in September at St Mary's Space with 9 guests, and only have good things to say about our wonderful wedding experience. Charlotte and Jamie are excellent hosts who really went above and beyond to accommodate us for our wedding day and stay in The Sitooterie. The venue itself is full of beautiful, creative details that set a homely backdrop for our relaxed micro-wedding (not to mention the breath taking surrounding scenery), and all of our guests had a fantastic time. We can't thank you both enough for our magical day and perfect stay afterward. We couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else!
